PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that the Township Committee of the Township of Mendham announces the change of location for their Regular Meetings to the Mendham Township Middle School, All-Purpose Room at 16 Washington Valley Road, Brookside. 

The Township Committee Regular Meeting Times are as follows:
*Executive Session Begins at 6:30 pm
*Regular Meeting Begins at 7:30 pm

Monday, October 2023 Meeting Details:

The Township Committee of the Township of Mendham announces a special meeting on Monday, October 23, 2023 at 6:00pm (after a brief regular meeting). This time will be used as an open forum to discuss the Revised Backer Farm Brewery Plan.  Please use the following as a guideline for how the meeting is expected to run.

Location: In-person, Mendham Township Middle School, All Purpose Room, 16 Washington Valley Road, Brookside, 07926.

Zoom: The hearing will be live streamed over Zoom platform, however, comments will be taken from in-person attendees only. Attendees will have 6 minutes to make their comments, per topic, as listed below

Professionals: Attorneys, Engineers, etc., should submit their reports in writing, in advance of the meeting. Attorneys representing parties may comment, and will need to identify the clients they are representing, preferably in advance.  If such attorneys do speak, the clients they represent will not be allowed to comment – the attorney is speaking on their behalf. Professionals representing a group will be allowed 15 minutes to speak per topic.

Public Session: The public session will be organized by discussing topic areas and/or the revised Backer Farm Brewery plan, one at a time.  This will provide the Committee with the opportunity to ensure a sound response that represents its best effort to make certain that the health and safety of the Township is not adversely affected, while also, preserving the Backer’s right to conduct on-farm direct marketing efforts.  The proposed outline for each topic discussion is as follows.

• Introduce the topic and briefly review the Townships response from May 2022.
• Discuss any needed/proposed updates to the May 2022 response from Mendham Township professionals, staff and Township Committee Members.
• Public comment on a response:
  • Each person may speak once on each topic.
• Final direction to Mendham Township professionals on the 2023 response.
