Founded in 1749, Mendham Township is a historic town of approximately 17.8 square miles and about 6,000 residents. Mendham Township is part of the Greater New York - New Jersey metropolitan area, located approximately 35 miles west of New York City and 28 miles northwest of Newark.  Philadelphia is approximately 80 miles to the southwest.  
 
Mendham Township is a community with many attributes. The small-town atmosphere is paired well with easy travel distance of all the cultural, economic, and transportation resources of the Newark/ New York / Philadelphia metropolitan area and is conveniently located near Interstate 287, Route 202, and Route 206.
 
Community annual events include an Easter Egg Hunt, 4th of July parade and celebration, National Night out with the local Police Department, an end-of-summer Clam Bake, a holiday boutique, and a holiday tree and menorah lighting ceremony. Educational and entertainment events are hosted throughout the year for children, adults and families. There are many local recreational sports leagues and activities. We encourage our residents to sign up for email alerts and to visit our site often, as this is the best way to learn more about what is happening in our community.
