Morris County Regional COVID-19 Vaccination Site Closes; Docket App
On Friday, the last vaccination dose was administered at the Morris County Regional COVID-19 Vaccination Center at the Rockaway Townsquare Mall. Due to the partnership between Morris County, Atlantic Health System, the State of New Jersey, the NJ Army National Guard, the Medical Reserve Corps, and the Morris County Sheriff's Office, the site was able to issue more than 340,000 shots since it first opened on January 8th. Additionally, Morris County has been leading the state in vaccinations with as many as 4,600 doses administered per day at the regional vaccination site along with thousands of other vaccinations provided daily by smaller clinics throughout the county.
With an increase in access and availability to COVID-19 testing, on Friday, the COVID-19 testing Center at the County College of Morris also closed.
Last week, the NJ Department of Health launched the NJ Docket application. Through this app individuals who received their COVID-19 vaccination in NJ and have an email or phone number on file with the NJ Immunization Information System (NJIIS) can access their COVID-19 vaccination record using the app. The app currently only displays COVID-19 vaccination details; however, the state has stated that there may be future plans to include expanding access for other full immunization histories. If a resident received their COVID-19 vaccine outside of NJ, their records may not be available in NJIIS. The NJDOH is working to obtain records for NJ residents vaccinated in other states.
Have a great week!
