Walk-In Vaccination Appointments Available at Morris County Megasite
Release Date: May 01, 2021
A Message from Mayor Sarah Neibart
This past week, the state announced that over 3,000,000 New Jerseyans have now been fully vaccinated. This morning, it was announced that over 7,000,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in the State of New Jersey. These are significant milestones, and with this news, additional steps in NJ’s reopening process have been announced.
On May 10th, the room capacities for indoor catered events will increase to 50%, up to a maximum of 250 individuals. The Governor mentioned that this increase will be applicable to school proms, in addition to indoor political events, weddings, funerals, memorial services, and indoor performances.
Additionally, on May 10th the outdoor gathering limit will increase to 500 from its current 200-person limit. The state hopes to increase this number again before Memorial Day.
Finally, the NJ Department of Health announced on Thursday that all six N.J. megasites, including the one in Rockaway, are offering walk-in vaccinations. You do not need an appointment to get vaccinated at these sites, and you do not need to be a resident of a specific county to get vaccinated at that county's megasite.
