NOTICE TO TOWNSHIP RESIDENTS

On April 14, 2003 , Mendham Township awarded a new two-year contract to Blue Diamond Disposal, Inc. for the collection and disposal of garbage and trash.

As in the past, a weight sticker must be affixed to each garbage bag or placed at the top of each container so as to be visible when the cover is removed and so that any sticker or stickers will accompany the garbage when picked up. Garbage includes all waste resulting from the handling, preparation, cooking or consumption of foods and household rubbish that is not recyclable.

The weight stickers are available at the Mendham Apothecary as well as by mail.  If you choose to purchase stickers by mail you must include a stamped self-addressed envelope with your order. The current sticker fee is $0.60 per 15 pounds of garbage and are sold in packs of 10/$6.00.  The mailing address for Blue Diamond Disposal, Inc. is P.O. Box 267 , Succasunna , New Jersey 07876 .

New regulations regarding the collection of bulk trash will go into effect on May 1^st.  Bulk trash now requires weight stickers. Bulk trash includes, but is not limited to, the items listed on the reverse side of this notice. If you have questions please contact Blue Diamond Disposal directly at 973-366-8100. 

Bulk trash specifically EXCLUDES vegetative waste, construction and/or demolition materials, and automobile parts (except tire rims). Refrigerators, air conditioners, humidifiers, etc. must be certified as having had the freon removed. 

A list of all Township streets and roads and the collection days is enclosed. Please be sure that you place your garbage and trash out for collection by 6:00 a.m.   If you have any questions, call Stephen Mountain , Township Administrator or Penny Newell, Township Clerk at 973-543-4555.

*Hazardous Waste must be disposed of through the Morris County Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Disposal Program.  For information about the HHW Program call 973-829-8006.
