Fire Department Fire Services The Mendham Township Fire Department is an entirely volunteer organization. The Department is comprised of two independent Fire Companies - Brookside Engine Company and Ralston Engine Companies. The volunteer firefighters who serve the community unselfishly contribute time and effort to fight fires and save lives in Mendham Township. They undertake regular training to maintain their skills and are on call 24 hours a day. The Brookside and Ralston Companies are open to anyone over the age of 16. The Ralston
Fire Company hosts a pancake breakfast every other month during the winter. Brookside
hosts an annual clambake on the first or second Saturday in September, a Halloween party in
October and Santa Claus in December. Anyone wishing to become a member or interested in
more information about the Department should call 543-7213. 2009 Township Fire Chief - Tom Montgomery 2009 Brookside Engine Company #1 Officers Chief: Ross Johnson Assistant Chief: John Alderton Captain: Peter Staples Lieutenant: Peter Dwyer Chief Engineer: Vince Suhocki Safety Officer: Robert Pierson , Denis Menton, Jeff BetzCaptain Engine 2: Walter Dwyer Captain Engine 3: Jim McLoughlin Captain Engine 4: Robert Pierson Captain Utility 5: Michael Merritt President: Samuel Tolley
