ORDINANCE 18-2003

AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MENDHAM , IN THE COUNTY OF MORRIS , NEW JERSEY , ESTABLISHING LOCATIONS FOR IN-STREET PEDESTRIAN CROSSING SIGNS AND SUPPLEMENTING THE MENDHAM TOWNSHIP ORDINANCE CODE WITH A NEW SECTION 7-32

            WHEREAS, the Township of Mendham finds it in the interest of public safety to establish locations for In-Street Pedestrian signs along East and West Main Street, Woodland Road and Cherry Lane pursuant to N.J.S.A. 39:4-8 (d); and

            WHEREAS, the Township of Mendham has met the requirements of N.J.S.A. 39:4-8 (d) and the criteria of the New Jersey Department of Transportation, Bureau of Traffic Engineering & Investigations, with respect to the in-street pedestrian crossing signs.

            NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Township Committee of the Township of Mendham , in the County of Morris , New Jersey , as follows:

            Section 1. Chapter VII “Traffic” of the Revised General Ordinances of the Township of Mendham , 1998, is hereby supplemented with a new Section 7-32 to read in its entirety as follows:

“7-32 In-Street Pedestrian Crossing Right-of-Way Signs.

 In-street pedestrian crossing right-of-way signs shall be placed along the following roadways at the locations described and in accordance with N.J.S.A. 39:4-8 (d):

            Section 2. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed.

Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon final passage and publication as required by law and the review and approval by the Commissioner of the Department of Transportation.
