ORDINANCE NO. 1-2005 ORDINANCE
ENLARGING THE BOARD OF RECREATION COMMISSIONERS FROM FIVE TO SEVEN MEMBERS AND
AMENDING SUBSECTION 2-27.1 OF THE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MENDHAM, IN
THE COUNTY OF MORRIS AND STATE OF NEW JERSEY, as follows:
Section 1.
Subsection 2-27.1 of the Revised General Ordinances of the
"2-27 BOARD OF RECREATION
COMMISSIONERS.
2-27.1 Established;
Appointment of Members.
There shall be a Board of Recreation Commissioners in and for the
Township to consist of seven (7) members, appointed by the Mayor to serve for
five (5) year terms, staggered by reason of original appointments. Vacancies on
the Board shall be filled by the Mayor for the unexpired term only.
Members shall receive no compensation for their services.
The Board shall be governed by and shall have the powers and duties set
forth in N.J.S.A. 40:12-1 to 40:12-8 inclusive.”
Section 2. Paragraph
2-27.1(a) of the Township’s Ordinance Code providing for two alternate members
to the Board of Recreation Commissioners is not amended by this ordinance.
Section 3.
This ordinance shall take effect after final passage and publication as
provided by law. Adopted:
