Preparations for Hurricane Sandy Release Date: October 26, 2012
The Township's Office of Emergency Management urges all residents to be prepared for Hurricane Sandy. The forecast as of 8 a.m. Friday morning places the storm track on a direct course over the State of New Jersey. Beginning late Sunday, heavy rains and high winds are expected to cause flooding in low lying areas, downed trees and possible power outages. Residents should stay abreast of the storm's progress through reliable weather sources such as weather.com. For information on hurricane prepareness, please see the ready.gov website. Residents in need of emergency assistance at any time during or after the storm should contact 911. The Township's emergency services and public works staff are in full storm preparation mode and will be ready to respond when the storm hits.
